Karen Butz is a strategic and passionate human resources leader who excels in fostering organizational growth and employee engagement.

As Vice President of People Operations at Ferrilli, Karen leverages her deep expertise in talent management, succession planning, talent acquisition, change management, and onboarding to create dynamic and sustainable HR solutions. She focuses on being a strategic business leader, with a focus on fostering a people-centric culture, rather than solely identifying as an HR professional within the business.

Prior to joining Ferrilli, Karen served for seven years as Vice President and Partner of Human Resources at Empirical Consulting Solutions, LLC, where she implemented impactful HR strategies across a diverse group of industries. Her career began with a 12-year tenure at Aramark, where she provided HR leadership across various sectors, including serving as Director of the East Region for Higher Education.

Karen is a summa cum laude graduate of the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University, holding a BS in Business Management. Dedicated to continuous learning, she is currently pursuing an HR Transformation Certificate from Cornell University.

Outside of her professional life, Karen serves as a board member for a nonprofit organization that retrains off the track thoroughbreds and teaches youth to ride horses, demonstrating her commitment to community and personal development. Her passion for aligning people strategies with business goals makes her an invaluable asset to Ferrilli and its clients.
